Kids Bird Art Contest!
Science and art come together in this fun art contest for kids. Spend time outside recording information about the birds in your neighborhood or a nearby park or preserve. Collect all your observations together in a scientific drawing with notes, like a page in a field guide.
Share your work and compete for prizes! SFBBO's "Kids Bird Art Contest" is FREE, open to kids ages 3-17, and will run from Aug. 6-Oct. 9, 2016. This contest is in partnership with "Guides from the Field." Winners will be announced on October 14th in three age categories: ages 3-6, ages 7-11, and ages 12-17.
The first 80 entries will receive a free guest pass to CuriOdessey and all entries will be showcased at the Milpitas Library. All submissions are eligible for submission to Guides From the Field, an online community-sourced field guide and nature journal for Silicon Valley, and will be featured on SFBBO’s Facebook page.
Prizes will be awarded at SFBBO’s Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, Oct. 22nd, 2016, at The Garden House in Los Altos (attendance not required), and the winning artwork will be featured at the event.
Three Category Winners will receive either tickets to the Children's Discover Museum, tickets to the Seymour Marine Discovery Center, or a family membership for the Santa Cruz Natural History Museum.
Nine Merit Awardees will receive 3-month season passes to CuriOdessey
